Bradley brings first Major win for Srixon
August 15, 2011

Keegan Bradley holds the Wanamaker Trophy aloftCleveland Golf and Srixon joined in the week of firsts at the Atlanta Athletic Club, with the Srixon ball claiming its first major championship victory at the US PGA, overcoming Jason Dufner in a three hole playoff to take home the Wanamaker Trophy.

Bradley, who birdied two of his last three holes in regulation to make the playoff, has been using the Srixon Z star ball on his debut season on the PGA Tour which had already seen him claim one victory before Sunday’s triumph.

Key to Bradley’s victory throughout the week was his long and straight driving including a mammoth tee shot at the 16th in regular play to leave him just a wedge into the green on the same hole where Dufner was hitting four iron. After struggling to keep with his opponent all round Bradley proceeded to make birdie, Dufner made bogey and the tide began to turn.

Bradley used the Cleveland 310TL Launcher Driver with Miyzakzi Kusla 61 shaft and with a season driving distance average of 301.3 yards there is no doubting where his strengths lie.

Also in the bag for Bradley in Atlanta was a Cleveland Launcher 3 wood, an 18 degree Cleveland Launcher DST Hybrid, a set of Cleveland CG7 Tour Irons (4-PW), and two Cleveland CG14 wedges with lofts of 52 and 58 degrees. Bradley also carried a 20.5 degree Cleveland Mashie which also saw its first major championship win. (See his full bag here)

The Atlantic Athletic Club has proved to be a happy hunting ground for Cleveland Golf, as ten years ago this week fellow Cleveland Golf Staff player David Toms also claimed his maiden major win in the same championship by wedging his way to victory at the 18th against Phil Mickelson.

A decade later and Toms showed that he can still do it with a fine fourth place at the scene of his career highlight to date, but there was no doubting which Cleveland Golf and Srixon player will be the talk of the tour van this time around.
