Ian Poulter steps into COBRA PUMA footwear
January 11, 2012

The ever-colourful Ian Poulter, who claimed his 15th career victory in December at the 2011 JBWere Australian Masters, has signed with COBRA PUMA GOLF to wear brand new styles of footwear and belts. Poulter has been a COBRA Golf ambassador for over five years and will now represent the COBRA PUMA GOLF brand on course.

“We are excited to have a world-class golfer with such an engaging personality and sense of style join the ranks of PUMA Golf,” said Bob Philion, President of COBRA PUMA GOLF. “Ian’s worldwide presence on multiple Tours will help drive home COBRA PUMA GOLF’s core message to enjoy golf through innovative, performance products with a stylish edge that sets them apart.”

Poulter, who is currently ranked World No. 16, will wear a new PUMA Golf shoe, the Neo Classic Pro-Type. While not yet available to consumers, Ian will be wearing it on Tour and in mid-summer a limited release of the style will be available to the public. Taking design cues from the runways, the upper is full grain leather with brogue details in the formstripe. The outsole is PUMA Golf’s S²C Pro (Swing Speed Chassis Pro). This outsole was designed with the professional golfer in mind, providing the ideal blend of control, leverage and balance. The S²Quill Technology in the outsole combines directionally molded S²Quill Spikes and replaceable S²Quill Spikes for ultimate grip on the course.

Ian Poulter signs with Cobra Puma Golf“I am thrilled to be working with COBRA PUMA GOLF, who truly understands the importance of fusing style with performance,” said Ian Poulter. “I really like the style and performance of the Neo Classic Pro-Type and we’re working on developing future models as well. I’m getting the style I love in shoes that perform and stay comfortable throughout my round.”

In addition to the Neo Classic Pro-Type shoe, Ian will wear a selection of new PUMA Golf belts. He will also work with the PUMA Golf Design Team to bring new footwear styles to the course and to consumers across the world, and continue to play Cobra equipment, including the Cobra ZL Encore Driver, AMP 3-wood, Baffler Rail Hybrid and S3 Irons.
