Dufner, Colsaerts and Muñoz win in FootJoy
May 21, 2012

Three FootJoy brand ambassadors recorded impressive victories on their respective tours at the weekend. In the United States, Jason Dufner continued his great run of form on the PGA Tour as he captured the prestigious HP Byron Nelson Championship. On the European Tour fellow FJ loyalist, Nicolas Colsaerts strode to the biggest win of his career at the Volvo World Match Play Championship. Rounding off the weekend on the LPGA Tour, Spain’s Azahara Munoz was in imperious form as she captured the Sybase Match Play Championship.

Wearing FootJoy's XPS-1 golf shoe, Dufner followed up his maiden victory, just three weeks ago by calmly rolling-in a 25 foot birdie putt on the 72nd hole to seal the Byron Nelson title. The 35 year-old American, who was also wearing an FJ pique lisle polo-shirt from the all-new FJ Performance Apparel Collection collected the $1.17 million winner’s cheque and 500 points to vault him to the the summit of the 2012 FedExCup standings and all but securing his place on the 2012 United States Ryder Cup team. Dufner’s victory secured the third win in four weeks for XPS-1 golf, testament to the world’s most stable golf shoe.

Battling strong winds and a grueling schedule of matches at Finca Cortesin, Belgian bomber Colsaerts wore the FJ ICON and the FJ StaSof glove to walk off with the title after a stunning display of golf throughout the week. A hard-fought 1- up victory in the final meant the 29 year-old walked off with the €458,333 first prize and swiftly moved into the Top 50 in the Official World Golf Rankings

Completing the hat trick of FootJoy victories, Azahara Munoz claimed her maiden LPGA tour victory at the Sybase MatchPlay Championship in New Jersey. Wearing the FJ Sport with the BOA lacing system, exclusive to FootJoy in the golf industry, the 24 year-old Spaniard won all six of her matches to capture the title and the $375,000 first prize.
