Fisher Golf Classic Tour Series putters
July 2010
Insert technology continues apace with the latest putters from US-based Fisher Golf, known for their great feeling Advanced Polymer insert materials since 1994. Although relatively unknown in the UK market, their inserts boast some 250 Tour wins given how the technology is licensed to Callaway, Odyssey and Mitsushiba.
Fisher's latest development is their patented Multi-Speed Insert Technology, with their putters offered in one of four colour-coded composite rebound choices (green denotes the softest texture; burgundy/soft, black/firm and blue/firmest.)
As the insert firmness increases, so does the rebound properties of the golf ball off the putter face – but without reducing the extra 'dwell time' on the face allowed by the KevFlex insert material. Fisher explains that 'dwell time' is the amount of time the ball remains in contact with the face – with the longer the contact, the lower the skid factor at the start of the putt, and the truer the roll.
The Multi-Speed concept is available in Fisher's Classic Tour Series putters spanning traditional blade and mallet designs, all offered with a choice of the four insert rebound choices. The clubs are slightly heavier to provide better feel while calming the player's hands and wrists for a more natural pendulum stroke.
The putters are available exclusively through the 80 outlets of American Golf, in 33”, 34” and 35” shaft lengths, priced at £99.99.
