Nicklaus Polarity HP Irons The Polarity iron range of the Nicklaus Golf equipment company has been designed specifically to maximise the benefits of stability and balance through its patented Extreme PolarWeighting System – so effective on the original Polarity MTR model. The new Polarity HP stands for Hybrid Profile, in reference to the shallower clubhead from topline to sole. “The importance for golfers to be able to achieve an optimumlaunch angle with their irons – and get the ball up into the air easily – cannot be overstated,” explains Chief Product Designer, Clay Long. “The lower profile head of Polarity HP allows for amuch lower centre of gravity which creates a higher ball flight.”
“The weighting on irons is traditionally set from toe to heel, With the extreme distribution of our new irons, it now runs from the toe to the hosel,” points out Long with reference to that distinctive hoselmounted notch. “This helps to create a high Moment of Inertia, to provide maximum twist resistance and a tighter shot dispersion.” The heads themselves are made from double heat-treated 431 stainless steel and feature progressive offset and sole width (less on the short irons; more on long irons); while sporting a feel-enhancing urethane inset in the rear cavity. Shaft offerings include FST Pro Silver Ultra Light Steel, Precision Rifle Black Graphite and Nicklaus SG Pro 3.01 in ladies' flex. Guide price: £499 (two graphite-shafted hybrids and six steel-shafted irons) / £599 (all graphite shafts). For further information visit www.nicklausgolf.com
