Williams Sports Equipment
By Dominic Pedler - July 2010

One of the more unusual sights at the PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando earlier this year was the stunning Williams Formula One racing car that greeted visitors to the booth of Williams Sports, who announced their bold new venture into the world of golf equipment.

The Williams Player Series FW32 Driver

With its heritage in precision engineering and the development of high-spec materials, Williams sees golf as a natural form of diversification and are offering three series of clubs to be emphasized in different markets worldwide.

The Player Series (right) will feature equipment designed for the everyday golfer seeking the very highest quality and performance, with the company claiming to be re-setting “the bar of excellence in the golf industry in all aspects of design, performance, and production”.

The Gold Series is targeted to the Asian and Far East markets that require certain qualities unique to their regions, such as super lightweight shafts and glamorous gold finishes.

The ultimate top-of-the-range offering will be the Black Diamond Series, custom-fit to each client by Williams engineers and which come complete with some very exotic extras. These include a personalized Italian leather golf bag, handmade in Italy by Schedoni, and a VIP Guest invitation to join the Williams team at the F1 event of your choosing, anywhere in the world.

We await details of a UK distributor and retail prices (though rumours in Orlando were that they were tailoring a VIP package for a cool US$50,000).
