Golfsmith launch Bettinardi's 2010 BB Series putters February 2010
At a time when many manufacturers feel the pressure to move their production overseas, Bettinardi Golf, under founder Robert J. Bettinardi, continues to make putters in the United States. Fanatical about detail, Bettinardi likes to oversee every step of production process, stating: "My office is 15 feet from the shop floor where I can see every piece being created and I can feel confident putting my name on it. I couldn't do that if my shop were 6,000 miles away..."
His putters have amassed over 70 worldwide tour victories - including two major championships - and are renowned for their unparalled quality, with every putter head milled from a single block of mild carbon steel and finished with the Bettinardi-patented 'honeycomb' face milling, giving the flattest face surface possible.
New for 2010, the Bettinardi BB Series of putters will be available in the UK through Golfsmith Europe.
Every putter in the BB Series, like the beautifully classic BB25 pictured right, is plated with a luxurious black nickel finish, guaranteeing the highest level of durability, milled with a single sightline to aid with alignment and completed with a pistol grip and a black Bettinardi head cover.
All models come in 35" and 34" lengths weighing either 332 or 348 grammes and have 3° of loft. The BB1 and BB32 have left-handed versions, all the others are right-hand only. RRP for the Series is £239.
The BB1 - a traditional heel-toe weighted design.
The gently rounded shape is punctuated with soft edges throughout and a perennial favorite with all golfers, amateur or professional.
The BB8 - a traditional heel-toe weighted design.
This has a sharper, sleeker look. The neck is milled in a heel basis position, promoting additional toe hang. A very popular model that has found a home in many tour player's bags.
The BB25 - a modern blade style design.
A fresh take on a classic design. The BB25 features a slightly tapered body with a single flange, while the design is further enhanced with a 100% CNC milled flow neck.
The BB26 - centre shafted and heel-toe weighted.
Incorporating many design elements from the BB1, this model has a center-shafted zero offset. A slightly thicker appearance at address and a spud style neck provide a smooth transition from shaft to putter head.
The BB32 - a face balanced mallet design
This modern mallet has a classic pear-shaped profile at address. The flange design achieves maximum perimeter weighting for optimum performance and the spud neck has a double bend shaft.
