Callaway's Solaire for Women Starter Set - for simply better golf
February 12, 2010

The new Callaway Solaire for Women range is an all-in-one clubs package and performance golf ball specifically designed to make the game easier for mid-to-high handicap players.

The Callaway Solaire for Women Starter Set

The Solaire Package Set features Energy Efficient Design, developed after extensive research into the swing characteristics of a wide range of women golfers, which optimises every element of the golf club’s performance.

The lightweight club heads in the complete 9-club set have draw configurations and higher lofts, as well as lighter grips and graphite shafts, allowing women to swing the club efficiently and powerfully, generating increased distance with a higher flight and greater accuracy.

Alan Hocknell, Senior Vice President of Research & Development, Callaway Golf, said: “We’ve spent countless hours researching the way women swing and play golf in an effort to design equipment that promotes shots that fly farther, higher and straighter.

“Women were heavily involved in the design process of these sets, both from a performance standpoint and on the aesthetic side. Solaire represents the latest example of our commitment to the women’s game, and we’re confident this equipment will help many reach new heights on the course.”

The 9-piece Solaire Set allows beginners to go straight from the shop to the course with everything they need. It comprises an all-titanium 13° driver, stainless steel 5-wood, two hybrids (6 and 7), an 8-iron, pitching and sand wedges, all designed for optimum distance coverage.

A mallet putter completes the set and the nine clubs come in a versatile cart bag designed once more with ladies in mind. Apart from the 10-way divider, umbrella holder and tee slots, the bag has 10 useful pockets, including a soft-lined valuables pocket, built-in shoe compartment and two removable accessories pouches.

Complementing the Solaire clubs is the new Solaire Golf Ball, a two-piece ball engineered to bring out the best from a woman’s game and featuring a distinctive luminous finish for an added touch of flair.

Designed to perform at slower swing speeds and using Callaway’s exclusive HEX aerodynamics, the Solaire ball has a soft, resilient polybutadiene core specifically formulated for increased carry and distance on all shots and comes in Pure White or a fashionable High Visibility Pink.

The Solaire range will launch on February 15 at a suggested retail price of £449 / 549 Euros for the 9-club set and £14.99 / 24.99 Euros for a box of Solaire balls.
