Light and strong - the Nike Air Zoom Vapor II shoe
Drawing on experience gained designing lightweight, high performance footwear for professional footballers, Nike has launched the second generation of its lightest, most technologically-advanced Tour Performance golf shoe to date, the Air Zoom Vapor II. Featuring a one-piece Microfibre Upper, which saves on weight but adds comfort, the Air Zoom Vapor is packed with technology that provides golfers with a shoe that fits like a glove and feels like a slipper, yet is also strong enough to withstand the rigours of the golf swing while playing in all conditions. ![]() The breathable Microfibre Upper also appears in Nike’s Mercurial Vapor football boot, which can be seen on the feet of world-class footballers such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Robinho and Franck Ribery. It was designed to provide superior traction, increase speed through lower weight and reduce fatigue through the course of a match. These same lightweight performance principles apply in the Air Zoom Vapor II. Featuring a full length Chassis System, which offers strength and flexibility from heel to toe, working in conjunction with Nike Golf’s Power Platform Ultra, the Air Zoom Vapor's combination of balance/weight transfer with lightweight Zoom Air technology delivers the most responsive, lowest profile cushioning Nike technology can offer. ![]() A contoured, removable poron sockliner for instant comfort ensures your feet stay dry and cool at all times. Traction control comes via Champ’s Scorpion Stinger spikes, which are made from dual durometer TPU for optimal grip and durability. Available from February 2010, the Nike Air Zoom Vapor II will be available in Black/Metallic Silver-Varsity Red, White/Gunmetal-Met Silver at a RRP of £120 (€200, SEK 1,795) and comes with a one year Waterproof Warranty.
