Callaway roll out Odyssey Black Series TD - and Black is beautiful!
February 10, 2010

Callaway is launching its new Odyssey Black Series Tour Designs range of milled putters, created in collaboration with its team of staff professionals from the world’s major tours.

Austie Rollinson, Principal Designer for Odyssey Golf, said: “In creating the Black Series Tour Designs putters, we consulted with some of the greatest players in the game, including Phil Mickelson. We incorporated this Tour player feedback into the design and the result is updated shapes with more head options, all delivering the truest roll possible in a premium look.”

Model #2:
Squared off heel-toe weighted blade with crank-neck hosel and full shaft offset.
R & L/H available.

The Black Series Tour Designs line is milled from 1025 carbon steel for a soft feel, and features Advanced Roll Technology (ART) for precise response and the truest roll possible. This is achieved through multi-material construction using tungsten weighting, creating a quicker topspin roll by moving the centre of gravity back and lower in the putter head.

A urethane ‘dampening’ layer is placed between the carbon steel putter head and the tungsten flange, producing the feel better players prefer.

Model #4:
Scalloped out, rounded heel-toe flanged blade with crank-neck hosel and full-shaft offset. RH only.

Model #6:
Scoop-back blade with a squared off toe, slant-neck hosel and half-shaft offset.
RH only.

The milled face of each putter has a precise, deep pattern that generates consistent impact performance across its surface resulting in better feel, distance control and a smoother roll.

Lastly, a Deep Black PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) coating producing a durable, glare-free sheen is added, creating an appearance specifically requested by the world’s best golfers.

Model #9:
Toe-weighted, heel-shafted flanged blade with long hosel and half-shaft offset.
R & L/H available.

The putters are offered in 33", 34" and 35" lengths, all with a loft of 3° and 70° lie, and weigh 350g for the 33" and 34" inch models and 340g for the 35".

Black Series Tour Designs putters will be available in several core models, including the #2, #4, #6 and #9, from February 15th at a suggested retail price of £199 / 299 Euros.
