PowaKaddy brings new meaning to a "Touch 'n Go" round
June 18, 2010

One of a good caddie's greatest assets is his intuition, sensing the mood and physical state of his player. You never see Tiger telling Stevie, or Phil telling 'Bones' how fast to walk. So why twiddle buttons to keep your trolley in step with you? Now, thanks to Powakaddy, electric trolleys just got a lot smarter...

PowaKaddy, the leader in powered trolleys, is introducing the revolutionary PowaKaddy Touch, which uses patented responsive technology to automatically change pace when you change yours. Its innovative Touch 'n Go™ system harnesses the natural movement of the user to control the trolley's speed.

The technology of the PowaKaddy Touch makes it simplicity itself to use. Lee Manvell, PowaKaddy’s Group Product Manager, explains: "Traditional electric golf trolleys use a roller to control the speed but the new PowaKaddy Touch has a new intuitive but simple mechanism. It has no roller; instead the handle is touch sensitive and slides forwards and backwards with ease. To use simply rest your hand on the handle, start walking and the trolley will respond to your speed. As you slow, so will the PowaKaddy Touch. Take your hand off and it will maintain that speed."

Extremely lightweight but with a robust aluminium frame, combined with a new 20ah Lead Acid Battery, the PowaKaddy Touch with Touch 'n Go technology provides effortless motion. A 200W motor balanced with its highly efficient gearbox delivers smooth, gradual power while remaining whisper quiet.

There are some stylish and functional finishing touches too, including a comfortable soft touch grip allowing ambidextrous handling and a versatile bag grip which, when used with a PowaKaddy bag, provides zero movement and twist due to the key lock base. Simple to fold with a modern oversized aluminium construction, the PowaKaddy Touch will stay upright when folded, making it easy to lift and stow in the boot of a car.

PowaKaddy Chief Executive Terry Hale commented, "The Touch is a completely new product for PowaKaddy. Sometimes the best solutions are the simplest and that is certainly the case here as the user doesn’t even have to think about it, they simply have to Touch 'n Go. It is a big step forward for us in terms of product performance and we are very confident that the product will be well received by both our current loyal consumer base and new PowaKaddy purchasers."

The PowaKaddy Touch will be available from July 2010 at a retail price of £399. For further information visit www.powakaddy.co.uk
