The FJ Sport gets athletic for 2012
November 24, 2011

FootJoyFootJoy will launch their athletics-inspired 2012 FJ Sport golf shoe in January, incorporating additional breathability and superior underfoot cushioning, as well the first appearance in golf of the exclusive FootJoy BOA L4 closure lacing system option.

Industry leader FootJoy will launch a new and improved version of its popular FJ SPORT golf shoe ahead of the 2012 season. This striking, high-performance, athletic golf shoe builds on the success of the original FJ SPORT, launched in 2010 and an instant hit on tour with the biggest names in the game, including Rory McIlroy, Lee Westwood, Adam Scott and Matteo Mannassero.

The new FJ SPORT has undergone a number of subtle design and styling tweaks to give it the very latest in modern styling and enhanced levels of sports performance.

The FootJoy FJ Sport for 2012

Ideally suited for golfers seeking a technologically-advanced shoe coupled with bold, athletic styling, the 2012 FJ SPORT will for the first time be available with the innovative BOA L4 closure lacing system option, exclusive to FootJoy in golf and providing an exceptional fit that can be easily adjusted during the round.

Distinctive with its striking patterns and bold colours, the FJ SPORT integrates proven performance attributes and premium materials. Full grain leather uppers allow for extreme levels of breathability, support and comfort with tensile strength, while ProofGuard membrane technology provides unrivalled waterproof protection and breathability.

In-shoe technology includes an athletic mesh lining that delivers comfort and additional breathability whilst a lightweight moulded EVA fit-bed increases underfoot cushioning, support and aesthetic appeal. Outsole technology incorporates a soft, lightweight, moulded EVA midsole that adds cushioning and a moulded TPU outsole with Forefoot FlexZone generates outstanding stability and flexibility.

"The FJ SPORT is an extremely important model for us and we were keen to incorporate some design and styling changes to give it a fresh new look ahead of the 2012 season. In addition to the introduction of the BOA L4 closure lacing system option we have also taken youthful, sports styling and fused it with industry leading performance and technology that FJ shoes are renowned for," commented Russell Lawes, European Marketing Manager, FootJoy. "This season we have developed our strongest golf shoe line-up ever, catering for the differing tastes of golfers of all ages. I am confident that the FJ SPORT will continue to be a popular shoe amongst the younger generation of player, particularly with the likes of Rory McIlroy and Matteo Mannassero wearing them out on tour."

The new FJ SPORT will be on sale from January 2012 in a variety of colour options including White/Silver/Black, White/Blue/Black, White/Red/Black and Black/Charcoal/Black at a RRP of £110, and in a White/Black/Silver BOA L4 closure lacing system option at £120.
