Sweden's Nordqvist Gets a Whole New Grip on Her Game HIRZL Staff Player Anna Nordqvist enjoyed her season best last weekend in the ShopRite LPGA Classic at the Seaview Resort Bay Course in Galloway NJ, tying 5 th on 8 under. Her latest sponsors have been very eager for feedback from the LPGA professional from Eskilstuna in Sweden, because in the season that has seen Hirzl become the official glove of the Ladies European Tour and the launch of their acclaimed new Soffft Cabretta glove, there is a great deal of pressure on the glove specialists to succeed.
She even told her team members that her chip-in on the 13 th was one of the best chip shots of her career: a bad lie, downhill from over the green, chipping straight downhill. The chip went into the hole like a putt. Anna also had an UNBELIEVABLE (her words) up and down from a bunker on 18 for a birdie on the par 5. She had a 35 yard shot to a pin on a plateau at the back of the green. She hit it close and made the putt. Nordqvist was among the first Tour players to take HIRZL Gloves seriously as a tactical asset to golf technique (rather than just an accessory) since their launch in Europe barely three years ago. So when the time came for the Swiss glove manufacturer to start looking at Tour player investment, Anna was always going to be a favourite choice. The LPGA State Farm Classic in Springfield, Illinois should be a challenge Anna will relish June 9 th - 12 th ... She had her best finish of 2010 at last year's event when she was joint runner-up by just one shot at 267. And with a cheque for over $56,000 for her performance in New Jersey, she can now enjoy her current 7 th place on the European Solheim Cup Rankings with renewed optimism. A HIRZl spokesman has said that a marked and quantifiable enhanced performance trend among professional golfers who take up the Tour-bred gloves is vital to HIRZL's position as 'the world's leading sports glove engineers'.
