Odyssey unveil £100,000 2-Ball putter
March 3, 2011

One of the most luxurious golf products ever made, a one-off Odyssey 2-Ball putter complete with an 18-carat white gold head, 240 rubies and 378 diamonds, crafted by British jeweller Theo Fennell, was officially unveiled last night at world-famous London department store, Harrods.

Under tight security and displayed in its own glass presentation case, the stunning putter went on sale for £100,000, and one of the first people to take a close look at this unique product was Callaway & Odyssey Staff Professional, Nick Dougherty, who was attending the launch.

Nick commented: “I regard my Odyssey putter as the most precious product in my golf bag, but this specially commissioned 2-Ball takes things to a completely new level!

“I can recall when the first 2-Ball putter was introduced on Tour back in 2001 – and how it went on to take the professional and amateur games by storm. I can think of no better way to celebrate its impact on so many golfers’ scores, including my own, than by creating a one-off like this.”

The idea to create this gem-encrusted putter was initially conceived following a social game of golf involving renowned jeweller Theo Fennell and Odyssey & Callaway’s EMEA Marketing Director, Nick McInally.

Nick McInally said: “This is one of the most striking golf clubs ever created, but it is still a putter that we hope will help the eventual owner hole more putts… if he or she is brave enough to use it.

“The interest from across the world has been incredible but I can confidently say we are unlikely to go in to mass production with this particular model... while we have sold more than 4 million 2-Ball putters over the last ten years, this particular version is truly one-of-a-kind.”.

The putter took centre-stage in a day of golf events at the iconic Knightsbridge department store, which included Dougherty giving customers one-to-one golf advice, and Harrods offering guests the chance to win a special Callaway RAZR Hawk driver, signed by the Tour professional.
