TaylorMade Tour staff pro Sean O'Hair captures Canadian Open July 26, 2011
TaylorMade Tour s taff professional Sean O'Hair earned his fourth PGA Tour victory Sunday winning the RBC Canadian Open playing the R11 driver, wearing Ashworth apparel and adidas Golf footwear. O'Hair's excellent tee-to-green play was critical to handling the narrow fairways and exceptionally heavy rough of Shaughnessy Golf and Country Club. He drove brilliantly with his R11, ranking third in driving distance (299.6), also used the Tour Preferred MB forged irons and the Penta TP ball to notch 10 birdies in the final 36 holes of regulation. The R11 driver, Tour Preferred MB and Penta TP were likewise used last week by TaylorMade Tour Staffer Darren Clarke to win the Open Championship.
The victory vindicates months of work O'Hair has put in to regain his form in the midst of a 12-tournament streak in which he missed nine of 12 cuts and fell to 114th in the Official World Golf Rankings. The win puts O'Hair, 29, back in the thick of the 2011 FedExCup points race (43rd). It had been two years since his last victory, at the 2009 Quail Hollow Championship.
"It's been a humbling year," O'Hair said. "It's been a tough road and I've had a lot of people help me get to this point."
O'Hair wore Ashworth apparel, including an EZ-Tech Solid Pique Polo, and TOUR360 4.0 footwear from adidas Golf. TaylorMade drivers have now been used in 33 victories worldwide in 2011 - more than any other brand.
