Scotty Cameron to release slimmer, pro-inspired Select GoLo models

February 7, 2013

Two new, mallet-style Scotty Cameron putters - the Select GoLo 5 and GoLo S5, on sale from mid-March - reflect Cameron's work with the best players in the world, incorporating their feedback into his designs. Since 1997, more PGA Tour players have wielded his Fine Milled putters than any other.

Scotty Cameron Select GoLo 5 and GoLo S5 putters have a compact, elegantly rounded profile with a racy soleplate and Select Weighting technology for balance and stability. The head design is about 10 percent smaller than the regular Select GoLo and GoLo S models, a result of Cameron’s research and testing with players and in his Putter Studio in California. A slightly asymmetric back profile with a pulled-in heel and the contained cavity sight lines encourage a flowing stroke along the ideal arc.

Two neck configurations – GoLo 5 with a single bend shaft and GoLo S5 with a straight, near centre shaft – provide options for appearance, dynamic feel, and toe flow.

“Working with the best players in the world gives me incredible feedback,” Cameron said. “The GoLo 5 and S5 are the results of that feedback for a slightly smaller head, but with the look, feel and performance of the incredibly popular GoLo. For many players the compact set-up instills confidence and control to make a flowing stroke, and hole more putts.”

The GoLo 5

As with every model in the Select putter family, GoLo 5 and GoLo S5 have a deep milled face that contributes to a softer feel and sound. Each Select putter also features a tour-validated Black Mist finish for a rich, dark, glare-free look. Race-car inspired cherry dot graphics in the back and cherry dot weights in the sole help create a modern but timeless look.

The Scotty Cameron Select family now features five modern blade models (Newport, Newport 1.5, Newport 2, Notchback, Newport 2.6), four mallets (GoLo, GoLo S, GoLo5, GoLo S5), three mid-lengths (Newport 2 Mid, GoLo Mid, GoLo S Mid), and two long options (Big Sur, Big Sur S).

The GoLo 5 and GoLo S5 will ship to golf shops from March 15, 2013 and carry a suggested retail price of £278.
