Oosthuizen wins in DryJoys

• FJ Ambassadors claim all-important wins as both the 2014 European & PGA Tour seasons gather pace

FootJoy has continued its dominant form claiming its first double win weekend of 2014, as FJ ambassadors, Louis Oosthuizen and Jimmy Walker, triumphed at the Volvo Golf Champions in Durban and the Sony Open in Hawaii respectively. For Oosthuizen, it was yet again another perfect start to the year as the South African saw off stiff competition to retain the Volvo Golf Champions title, choosing to compete in the unrivalled performance, comfort and fit of his DryJoys Tour golf shoes and his SciFlex golf glove. While in America, Jimmy Walker claimed his second win of the 2014 PGA Tour season in Hawaii at The Sony Open wearing FJ ICON golf shoes and the FJ flagship StaSof glove. The leaderboards of both side of the Atlantic were awash with players choosing to compete in the market-leaders’ all-encompassing shoe and glove collections.

In Durban, and playing on home soil, Oosthuizen was the epitome of calm as he produced a stunning display of golf on the final day at Durban Country Club. Following a flawless front nine, the South African was equally as dominant on the back-nine, producing two birdies in the last two holes to successfully defend the title he won 12 months ago. Taking home the winners cheque of €507,654, the 31 year-old moves up to second place in the Race to Dubai with season earnings of €579,235 and back in to the top 30 of the Official World Golf Ranking. The leaderboard in Durban was awash with fellow FJ loyalists including, Joost Luiten (FJ Sport) Victor Duibuisson (FJ Contour Casual & StaSof) Padraig Harrington (M:PROJECT & Pure Touch) Thomas Aiken (FJ ICON) and Julien Quesne (FJ ICON)

While on the PGA Tour, Walker, who turns 35 in a few days’ time, organised himself the perfect birthday present with a stunning display of golf over the famed Waialae Country Club in Honolulu. Featuring seven birdies, five of which came on the back-nine, the American finished with a faultless round of 63 to romp home to his second career PGA Tour victory and his second of six starts on the 2013/14 season. The Texan resident claims the winner’s cheque of $1,080,000 and now leads the FedEx Cup standings with 1,233 points, following his win at the beginning of the season at the Frys.com Open. Walker was also joined at the top of the leaderboard in Hawaii by several fellow FJ ambassadors including, Harris English (DryJoys Tour) Mark Leishman (FJ prototype shoes & StaSof) Jeff Overton (FJ Sport & SciFlex) Charles Howell III (DryJoys Tour & StaSof) and yet another Top 10 finish for 2013 Masters Champion, Adam Scott (Prototype FJ golf shoes & StaSof).
