BerryGolf launch after blind testing

Berrygolf launches its European wide golf ball business in August on the back of solid blind research results.

The research carried out in May 2009, tested three market-leading golf balls from Callaway, Nike and Titleist against three high performance balls from the Berrygolf range. One professional golfer and three amateurs (of varying abilities) hit driver and iron shots of all six balls repeatedly. "The key to the test's impartiality was the golfers were not allowed to know the names or brands of the balls they were hitting until the test was over." stated Berrygolf's founder Lee Arthur . The hidden brand or "blind test" is designed to remove any effect of branding power on the golfer's perception of how they would hit the ball.

Berrygolf's balls tested included the Surefeel™, the HVx Distance™ and the Tour Extreme™. These were tested against the HX Hot from Callaway, the Titleist Pro V1 and the Nike One Platinum golf balls.

As well as distance performance; accuracy and stopping ability were measured in the test. "It is no use hitting balls a long way in the wrong direction." added Arthur. So distance remaining to the hole after each shot was recorded (Not just the distance travelled). The test showed the effect of using different ball types by players of various abilities.

Berrygolf's HVx Distance and Tour Extreme achieved the No 1 and No 2 spot in the Distance Test. Noticeably higher handicappers hit the HVx Distance™ ball further whilst the better players hit the Tour Extreme™ closest to the pin. In the Control Test the Surefeel™ from Berrygolf came in a close second behind the Nike One Platinum on control shots to the green.

Full results of the test are available from the company's website at www.berrygolf.com or directly from the following link - Click Here.

All balls from Berrygolf are USGA tour approved and sold with free postage in the UK on any size order. Postage is also free on orders of four or more in other European countries.
