Daniel Chopra to be Pin High Apparel global ambassador

Pin High Apparel has announced the signing of two-time PGA Tour winner Daniel Chopra to a multi-year endorsement deal.

The brand, a relative newcomer to the golf apparel scene, revealed the news during the Hero Honda Indian Open, where Chopra finished in a tie for 21st place yesterday.

Since launching three years ago, Pin High has rapidly established itself as a premium golf apparel line and implemented strategic partnerships across the world.

Exemplifying Pin High’s expansion plans include the appointment of Grand Slam Golf as the exclusive distributor in the Southeast Asia region. With offices in Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok and Jakarta, that aspect of the business will be fully operational in December 2009.

It is also currently the Official Apparel of the Canadian Tour and of the Asian Tour, but this marks its first major foray into brand ambassadorship.

“From the day we started the brand, we have been looking for that one individual who we felt epitomized what we want to achieve as a global golf apparel brand,” said Raymund Shakespeare – President of Pin High Apparel. “We have found just that person in Daniel.”

Pin High’s arrangements with the two tours has seen the brand grow significantly across parts of Asia and secure a strong niche in Canada. However, the signing of Daniel also represents the brand’s first significant venture into India.

“As a growing brand we have to continue to explore new markets and position ourselves in such a way as to make an impact in those markets,” added Shakespeare. “Our partnership with Daniel, given his global presence and appeal, will be the catalyst for us in the US, Europe and naturally in India.”

For Chopra, a true globetrotting professional who has played on the major tours worldwide and compiled 13 international victories along the way, the partnership is an exciting development.

“I had many offers in the past from apparel companies but had always been reluctant to commit for one reason or another. But with Pin High, everything seemed to fit just right, and not just the shirts!” commented Chopra.

“The designs and fabrics are terrific and I felt comfortable throughout our discussions with them that they could be someone I could work with long term. The fact that the brand started out here in Asia and is now moving into the bigger markets of Europe and the US also mimics my career path and I am very pleased and proud to play a part in their progress and success.”

As part of his commitment, Chopra will wear Pin High shirts and outerwear in all golf related activities and feature in product advertising and promotional activities. There are also plans to create and launch a Daniel Chopra Signature Line in the future.
