COMPETITIONS, GIFTS AND OFFERS

SEEN AT THE LONDON GOLF SHOW

The 2007 edition of the London Golf Show opened its doors at ExCel in London's Docklands today with a revamped - and distinctly more user-friendly - floor layout, which makes getting around the numerous stands far easier.

The perennially popular features are all here: the fashion shows, trickshots, floating greens, putting and chipping contests, driving range with all the latest equipment to test, the simulators, the tantalising holiday destinations and the ever more creative array of gagdets and gizmos. Not forgetting, of course, expert tuition, the huge retail outlet and bargains all over the hall, plus endless competitions and draws offering all manner of prizes.

Any golf addict would be well-advised to bring a wheelie-bag; you're likely to be loaded down on the journey home...

To take it all in and decide where to spend your money really requires more than just a day - not a problem since it's open Thursday through Sunday - but for those who don't have the time to stop off at every stand, here are a few of our favourites seen today.

Club-out

There can't be a golfer who hasn't left or lost a club around the green by walking off to the next hole without picking it up. This simple device will protect against that, and protect your investment! An excellent gift on stand S-12.

Tri-Bag

A brilliant idea, so simple and effective! A bag that rolls, stands and is carryable, saving space and effort by eliminating the need for a trolley. It's also very light. For a demonstration, visit Michelle on stand 2318.

Left Handed Golf

If you're left-handed - and apparently more and more of us are, 8% currently and going up one percentage point every year - this is your heaven. It's all there. Stand 1144.

The Sonic Golf Club Cleaner

Ultrasonic technology cleans a full set of clubs in just two minutes (heads AND grips). Used at St. Andrews by the R&A. Run as a franchising operation, this is an excellent business opportunity looking for partners. Stand R-21.

2Thumb putter grip

We've covered this ingenious and excellent product before (click here for full review), but no apologies - it works!
Now available in Original, Light and Shorty. Visit stand 1015.

American International Golf Academy

Fancy working on your game, but without the blood, sweat and tears? Visit Jean and Tony on stand S-21 to discover how they combine relaxing holidays in Florida with highly personalised golf tuition.

Staygripped

Ben Hogan said "Good golf begins with a good grip" and this product ingrains the most basic of golf's fundamentals. A velcro-gripped club and gloves place your hands correctly on the club - and keep them there! Visit Martin Hucker at Net 8.

Jellybrush club cleaning brush

The innovative folk at Vitalstock have a wide range of fun, fashiionable and useful products, including this neat little device for keeping your clubface and grooves clean to provide maximum spin. Stand R-29.

We'll be reviewing more products every day of the Show, so come back tomorrow.
