SEEN AT THE LONDON GOLF SHOW
The
2008 London Golf Show - its fourth edition - was opened today by Ryder Cup star and world no. 20 Lee Westwood at ExCel in
London's Docklands.
The first of three show days saw a large crowd enjoying the ever-popular features: the driving
range with all the latest equipment to test, the superb golf simulators, whose realism reaches new heights every year, the
tantalising holiday destinations and properties, and of course the latest in golf fashion - including the first appearance of Ian Poulter Design.

There are also the trickshots, the iconic floating green (where Lee Westwood hit his first in the water, so there's hope for us all...), putting and chipping contests, and the usual array
of gagdets and gizmos. For those with a serious intent to improve, there's expert tuition in every area of the game. We were particularly impressed by the patient and very effective members of the European Golf Teachers Federation in the nets and at the chipping green.
The huge American Golf retail outlet, with bargains on every kind of equipment, has relocated to the centre of the hall, but there are also special show offers available all over the hall, plus endless
competitions and draws offering all manner of prizes, including a Land Rover at the "Hole in One" simulator, a holiday to TPC Sawgrass at the Floating Green, and superb Yonex drivers in the Long Driving competition.
The show is open from 10am - 5pm on Saturday and from 10am - 4pm on Sunday, and there's more than enough on show to fill your day, so get to ExCel early and avoid the queues at the very popular competition and simulator stands. Tickets cost £10 for a single, or £15 for two - money you'll easily make up on the bargains you'll find.
With so much on show it's hard to take it all in, but here are a few that caught our eye on Friday.

Cutters performance gloves
A solid grip is vital for golf, but also for American football, and now the exclusive C-Tack performance grip material first used on the gridiron has been incorporated into a golf glove. More grip means less grip pressure and muscle tension is needed, creating more cluhead speed. Try them on A-60.
