Golf du Touquet - two great courses at the centre of golf in Northern France

Host to the French Open six times, the fantastic Golf du Touquet has rightly earned an enviable reputation as one of the best golf clubs in France. With two contrasting golf courses and a great location just five minutes away from the lively town of Le Touquet, this is simply a must play on a golfing break in France.

The premier course is La Mer, which hosted the French Open. Designed by Harry Colt, this tricky links course regularly makes top 100 European course lists. Its main defence is the Atlantic wind, which can wreck many a good scorecard. With spectacular views amidst the undulating dunes, this is truly a memorable round of golf.

The other course, La Foret, is actually the older of the two. Set amongst a pine forest, it is easier than its big sister which makes it perhaps more enjoyable for the higher handicapper. Look out especially for the 11th and 15th, the two most memorable holes on the course. Golf du Touquet also has a 9 hole course called Le Manoir, perfect for those looking for a quick warm up before tackling one of the main courses.
