Scottish Borders - a great place for a relaxing golf break

With its rolling hills and stunning scenery, one of the best ways to relax is on a golf holiday in the Scottish Borders. The hotels are lovely, and you are guaranteed a warm welcome after taking on the challenging on site courses at these charming golf resorts.

One of these golf resorts is the Cardrona Hotel, Golf & Country Club, located just over 20 miles from Edinburgh. The golf course was designed by Dave Thomas, who also designed the Brabazon at The Belfry, and is a real test of golf. At 7,000 yards from the medal tees and with the River Tweed an often present hazard, you need both distance and accuracy to score well.

Another exceptional golf resort is the Roxburghe Hotel & Golf Course. Owned by the Duke and Duchess of Roxburghe, this is one of the finest country house hotels in the country. The golf course is also excellent; again designed by Dave Thomas, it is a challenging course enjoyed by both amateurs and pros alike, with Sergio Garcia holding the course record.

Both of these resorts are firm favourites with golfers, and come highly recommend. If you'd like to try them for yourself, visit our friend at to book your own golf holiday to the Scottish Borders.
