New "Hole" concept from Befriend a Child

An exiting new product aimed at charity and corporate golf events premiered at the second annual Befriend A Child Golf Day last Friday.

Golf Hole Promotions, based in Dorset, chose Befriend A Child's golfing event at Inchmarlo near Banchory, to showcase their unique marketing tool for the first time in Scotland .

The SAVBAM (Sound And Vision Brand Awareness Module) is placed in the golf hole and sits in the bottom of the cup.

When the player's ball drops into the cup, a sound bite of up to 10 seconds is activated. A creative visual message is also viewed by the player when the ball is retrieved.

The message can be recorded to promote individual sponsors, remind players of the yardage of the next hole or to re-emphasise the ethos of the host charity or business.

And the device certainly proved a hit with the participants in the Befriend A Child event.

"It's a really clever idea and proved a talking point for the teams," commented Befriend A Child Communications and Funding Officer, Duncan Peter.

"We were able to help promote Grampian Electrical Services, who sponsored the day, and they thought it was a very nice touch.

"I can see huge benefit in the SAVBAM for both charity fund-raising, and corporate marketing."

Befriend A Child are an Aberdeen based children's charity providing 1:1 befriending for deprived and vulnerable young people in Aberdeen.
