First Hole In One For 9 Year Old

Marcus Piper, a 9 year old member of Stonham Barns Golf Centre, has achieved his first hole in one on the 105 yard 7th hole at Stonham Barns. He way playing with his Mum, Sam Piper, who said "he used his 7 iron off

the tee , nice smooth swing sending the ball up and straight coming down on the green with a small bounce hitting the pin before landing in the hole. He was so pleased after screaming he cried with joy and said his legs went all like jelly."

Marcus is a member of the Stonham Barns Junior Academy and is coached by head professional Tony Dobson. In addition Marcus has recently achieved a place in the Suffolk County Academy Programme. Funded by Sport England's Club, this National Training Initiative is a county wide coaching programme aimed at identifying and encouraging talented and enthusiastic junior golfers from all backgrounds. Marcus certainly falls into that category!
