News and views on the world of ladies' golf fashion
Christina Smith, Director of Golf2Golf.co.uk, explains why the golf skirt is making a fashion come-back...
Well they say fashion repeats itself but I don't think many could have predicted the resurgence of the skirt on the golf course.
Whilst the long full skirt was common attire for the Victorian lady golfer its contemporary counterpart is a very new and increasingly popular item of golf apparel.
The shorter skirt is more common in a variety of lengths but the reinvention of long skirts is also just starting to hit the fairways.
Not restricted to the summer, golf skirts can be found in the current Autumn winter collections hitting the shops and teamed with woolly tights allow great freedom of movement whilst looking feminine and stylish.
Today's skirts pay little resemblance to their Victorian counterparts and can come in high-tech functional windproof and waterproof fabrics giving a new alternative to the traditional waterproof trousers on a wet day.
The Daily Sports Amanda Rain Skirt pictured has a full length zip and simply goes over your normal skirt to give it waterproof protection during an unexpected shower.
With the great choice available this Autumn why not give this emerging item of golf apparel a try!
