Congratulations to England's Emily Taylor, Charlotte Ellis and Holly Clyburn for getting their LET Tour cards!

There's nothing more nerve-racking or pressure packed than trying to get your Ladies European Tour card, so it is with great delight that I am congratulating England's Emily Taylor, Charlotte Ellis and Holly Clyburn who successfully secured theirs yesterday.

The ladies were among a larger group of Brits who had flown out to the Lalla Aicha Tour School in Morocco last week to go through one of the most gruelling and nerve-racking tests of their golfing skills.

18-year-old Emily Taylor, who is tipped for stardom, secured her card with ease finishing in second place behind the out-right winner, Thailand's Ariya Jutanugarn, who finished five shots clear of the field on amazing total of 24 under par.

"I didn't expect it to be honest," said Emily. "I did play well in the Pre-Qualifying but it's just fantastic to finish tied second, I'm really happy. I was good with my irons this week, the putting wasn't great but tee to green I hit a lot of greens and a lot of fairways so I gave myself a lot of chances. I can't wait for my rookie year on tour and I'm going to turn pro as soon as possible."

Charlotte Ellis also qualified comfortably with her top 10 finish of 9th place, while Holly Clyburn was happy to get over the finish line with her 25th place finish.

However it wasn't such good news for several other British players who were disappointed to have missed out on the top 30 including England's Charley Hull, who shot a final round 76 to end in a share of 36th on four under alongside Cheyenne Woods (Tiger Woods' neice) of the United States who had a final round 70.

Kingsbarns Golf Links has been selected to host the Final Qualifying for the 2013 Ricoh Women's British Open on Monday, 29th July 2013, ahead of the Championship proper which will be played for the second time over the Old Course, St Andrews, 1st - 4th August.

Kingsbarns Golf Links is ranked amongst the top 100 courses in the world and, located just seven miles from the Old Course, provides the perfect stage for the curtain raiser to the 2013 Championship where the world's best women will seek to show their links skills in the most famous corner of the golfing world.

Alan Hogg, Chief Executive of Kingsbarns Golf Links explained, "We are delighted that the LGU and IMG have selected us to host Final Qualifying for one of the world's leading professional tournaments. Not only are we excited to play such an important part in the 2013 Ricoh Women's British Open we are delighted to be supporting the Ladies Golf Union and women's golf. We hope this will showcase the magnificent facilities we have here at Kingsbarns and very much hope it is an association that we can develop in the coming years as we look to build our Championship portfolio."

Shona Malcolm, Ladies' Golf Union's CEO, added, "The Championship Committee is very happy to be adding Kingsbarns Golf Links to the rotation of prestigious clubs who host Final Qualifying for the Ricoh Women's British Open Championship. We know Kingsbarns will be a popular choice among the players and spectators and we very much look forward to seeing which players will conquer the challenges offered by this magnificent links course and claim the qualifying places available."
The Ricoh Women's British Open was founded by the LGU in 1976 and is staged in conjunction with IMG, the world's largest sports marketing company. The event has been co-sanctioned by the LPGA and LET since 1994 and gained Major status in 2001.

Put the 2013 Scottish Golf Show in your diary...

If you are a golf fan and live in Scotland (or are willing to travel north) then the 2013 edition of the Scottish Golf Show is a must for your diary.
The show will take place at the SECC in Glasgow from March 26-28 2013 and will be sponsored by VisitScotland - the country's national tourism organisation - for an eighth consecutive year.

The Scottish Golf Show and VisitScotland have teamed-up to great effect since the show launched in 2006 and show organiser Tom Lovering is confident that this collaborative success will continue next year.

"VisitScotland has given its support to the Scottish Golf Show from the very beginning and we are very grateful to them for that," said Lovering. "I look forward to working with all of our partners at the organisation again in 2013 when the show makes its return to Glasgow.

"VisitScotland's ongoing commitment to our event further underlines the Scottish Golf Show's status as the UK's premier retail golf show.

"Next year's show is shaping up to be, without doubt, the best yet and will tee off what is sure to be another memorable season here in the 'Home of Golf'."

Dr Mike Cantlay, chairman of VisitScotland, added: "The Scottish Golf Show has been a huge success and, in our opinion, helps to profile everything that is great about the game here in the country of its birth.

"In 2014, Scotland welcomes the world when we host the Ryder Cup, Commonwealth Games and Homecoming. On top of that there is a lot to be excited about in terms of golf in Scotland over the next few years. In 2013, we will host four full European Tour events, the most of any country in Europe, including the Open Championship at Muirfield while we also welcome the RICOH Women's British Open back to St Andrews. This is in addition to Seniors, Ladies and Challenge Tour events - wouldn't it be great if everyone is Scotland could pick up a golf club in Scotland, inspired by these amazing events.

"The Scottish Golf Show in March 2013 will be a great way to kick off this unprecedented era of golf events in Scotland."

Titleist launches new 913 fairways and hybrids

Delivering more performance from both the turf and tee, the new Titleist 913 fairway metals and hybrids are built for more distance and control with the most precise fit available to all serious golfers.

Developed from extensive player testing and advanced engineering, the 913F and 913F.d Low Spin fairway metals, and 913H and 913H.d hybrids are Titleist's highest performing, most comprehensive designs, featuring optimised launch with reduced spin for longer distance and precision fitting provided by Titleist's patented SureFit Tour adjustable hosel technology.

The new Titleist fairway woods and hybrids are already being played by Titleist's tour professionals around the world and Italian Matteo Manassero has even won using them already at the Barclays Singapore Open a couple of weeks ago.

The 913 range do not have specific 'ladies flex' shafts as Titleist believe in encouraging ladies to get custom fitted for their clubs as no two lady golfers swings are alike. They have several custom shaft options that are suitable for ladies with moderate swing speeds including the Bassara W shaft is available with the 913F and the 913H, the most likely suitable choice for most ladies with moderate swing speed, avoiding the confusion of ladies just taking clubs with a 'ladies' flex shaft off the shelf.
The 913 fairway woods will have a recommended retail price of £215 and the hybrids will cost £197 and will be available as a custom order for ladies to get fitted for the right shaft to suit their swing.

"The perfect 'posh' stocking filler!"
They say: An innovative product that uses negative ion therapeutic and magnetic technology to provide the wearer with a continuous stream of negative ions to counteract the damaging effects of positive ions - or Free Radicals - that are so prevalent in today's environment. Using Max Bio-Science technology, the 'db' Ion Bracelet stimulates muscle activity and power output, provides a natural way to sustain high-intensity exercise over a longer period and accelerates muscle repair, regeneration and recovery thereby improving the performance of the wearer both mentally and physically.

I say: I've been a fan of 'ion therapy' since bracelets first appeared on Tour player's wrists a few years ago.

I've worn different brand name bracelets on and off for the past few years and I honestly believe that they do work and definitely improve your feeling of well-being - so much so that I wouldn't want to be without one on my wrist anymore.

However, until now I've never come across one that I can honestly say looks nice - step in the Druh Ion Bracelet…This bracelet isn't just functional it's incredibly fashionable too. It's not heavy to wear but feels really comfortable on your wrist and looks so stylish.

In my opinion it's just as pretty as a bracelet from a jewellery store and is so well made. It's the little details that set it apart from others on the market like the quality of the catch, which gives it the feeling of a posh watch, and the eye-catching little 'db' buckle detail in the centre. I opted for the pretty pink and white db bracelet, but there is a whole selection of colours to choose from.

The db Ion Bracelet comes in a beautiful little presentation box, which makes it the perfect posh stocking filler to pop for your golfing loved one under the tree. They won't be disappointed!

ECCO Sign Caroline Masson

Ladies' European Tour Star to Compete in Brand's Coveted Hybrid Line

Danish brand ECCO - a leading global manufacturer of innovative footwear - has announced the signing of German Ladies' European Tour player Caroline Masson, who will compete in the brand's market-leading Hybrid line, fronted by the new Classic Hybrid, Biom Hybrid and Golf Street designs.

The multi-year agreement will see her compete with the ECCO logo on her collar, and she will appear on global marketing materials.

Masson has had her strongest year to date in 2012, as she finished 2nd on the Order of Merit following a string of top-5 finishes and her maiden win in South Africa, during which she wore ECCO's Biom Golf shoe. She's currently 48th in the Official Rolex Rankings, having had several strong finishes on the LET since she won Final Qualifying in 2009. She recently won her unconditional Tour Card for the LPGA 2013 with a solid T11 at Stage III of the Qualification Tournament in December, 2012.

Commenting on the deal, Masson, said: "It's paramount that my footwear performs consistently throughout the year, and with ECCO's Hybrid shoes, I know I will be wearing the best on Tour. As soon as I slipped my first pair on, I felt the 'out-of-the-box' comfort that all the pros look for.

"From a fashion perspective, the 2013 line offers everything you could possibly want and more. This, combined with ECCO's unique E-dts sole, will provide me with the best footwear experience on the market. I can't wait to see what difference it'll make in competition."

Masson is currently first in the Solheim Cup rankings for 2013, when the event will head to Colorado before turning to her home nation for the first time in 2015 at St. Leon-Rot.

"After the year that Caro's had, it's testimony to the quality of our products that she's committed to wearing ECCO Hybrids," said Jesper Thuen, Global Marketing Manager. "Her golf ability, grace and personable nature make her a great fit for the brand."

The 2013 collection will also be worn in competition by Tour stars Fred Couples, Graeme McDowell, Thomas Bjorn, Belén Mozo, Thongchai Jaidee, Stuart Appleby, Bradley Dredge and Andreas Hartø.
