Honda LPGA Thailand set to return in 2014

Channel 7 and Honda proudly presents the return of "Honda LPGA Thailand", set from February 20th - 23rd, 2014 with 1.5 million USD prize fund. Thai theme embedded through Honda LPGA Thai Fashion Design contest

Bangkok, Thailand, October 28th, 2013 – Channel 7 and Honda Automobile (Thailand) Co., Ltd. are proud to announce the return of the premiere ladies professional golf tournament “Honda LPGA Thailand 2014” from February 20th - 23rd, 2014 at Siam Country Club Pattaya Old Course. Top 60 world’s money list woman golfers and 10 exemptions will compete in the 72-hole stroke play tournament with no cut to win the prize money of 1.5 million USD or 46 million THB, with the special hole-in-one prize on par 3 hole 16, new Honda Accord 2.4 EL, worth 1.66 THB.

According to Mr. Pitak Pruittisarikorn, Executive Vice President of Honda Automobile (Thailand) Co., Ltd., “As part of the Honda LPGA THAILAND 2014 ladies professional golf tournament, we have initiated the “Honda LPGA Thai Fashion Design Contest” for the best short evening dress design using Thai fabrics under the Smart & Trendy Look concept. The initiative welcomes independent designers and students to show off their potential as quality Thai designers, demonstrate the unrivalled elegance of Thai fabrics and be proud of being a part of this international ladies golf tournament. The winning entries will be shown at the fashion show in the Honda LPGA Charity Night. An auction for famous golf collectibles will take place at the charity night event and all earnings, with no deductions, from the event will go to the Queen’s Silapacheep Foundation

Besides, Honda launched the micro site http://www.hondalpga.com/ for Thai people and golf fans to stay updated on the progress of the tournament, join many online quiz games and activities to win free tickets to the tournament, guess the 2014 champions, follow up news and activities throughout the tournament, learn more about the rules of golf, enjoy lifestyle articles about watching golf and view the Honda LPGA Collection, souvenirs from this golf competition”
