About: Adams Golf was the most popular choice of hybrid on the men's PGA Tour this season so it is exciting to see that the brand has widened its club offering to the ladies market so that we will benefit from the same Tour level performance in 2014. The Super S Idea is part of a family of ladies woods that have been designed primarily to help you hit the ball further and with more accuracy. The hybrid has a special Cut-Thru sole slot that increases ball speed for added distance, combined with a thin, deep crown slot to help you get the ball up in the air, making it a particularly useful club for hitting long par 3s with a soft landing.

I say: This is an extremely stylish hybrid that is presented in a soft leather headcover that oozes quality. The striking white clubhead is still bang on trend as the 'in-look' and set against the combination of the high performance Matrix silver shaft (made by leading shaft manufacturer Kujoh) and soft purple grip looks amazing. Performance-wise the Super S Idea, as the name suggests, really is 'super' easy to hit. I found that the unusual slot cut in the crown of the clubhead helped me to square the clubface to the target at address, while the clever design definitely had a hand in the effortless easy elevation of my shots. The Super S sent them soaring high and landing softly.

The Super S Idea has a very unusual clubhead design with a Cut-Thru slot on the crown of the clubhead like nothing I have ever seen before. Unfortunately the downside of this cut-out was that the slot tended to clog up with grass after hitting shots out of rough and wet grass was a particular nuisance to clean out. I'm was also not a fan of the oversize 'Super' logo printed across the clubhead in a bold fashion, but that's just my personal taste and if you can get over the looks though this club does genuinely offer amazing all-round performance.
