New app gives you golf news on the go

If you are a golf addict who hates to miss the latest Tour news then the new App SportsFix is for you.

Whether it's the majors or the PGA and European tours, keeping on par with every stroke in world golf can be a tough task at the best of times. Add in wading through hundreds of players and keeping up with who is playing when, where and how well, not to mention trawling through endless news sites to find the latest info, following golf can feel like a full time job.

While we can live in hope that one day 'golf journalist' forms part of our job description, for most, modern living makes following this global sport a hard task.

Now there's an easier way for you to get your golf fix on the go - new App SportsFix. Acting as your sports PA, it does all the work for you, scanning and collating the latest online content, delivering unique summaries to your smartphone.

Leaping beyond RSS feeds, the secret to SportsFix's unique summaries lies in its algorithm which employs Natural Language Processing (NLP) to generate automatic sports news snippets. What's even better is that you can refine the searches so you only follow the players and tournaments that specifically interest you.

The brainchild of two avid sports fans, SportsFix was dreamt up in the Union bar by two students. As tech savvy iPhone users, they felt that the current sports apps on the market were significantly flawed in their inability to summarise news content. Seeing the success of the global hit Summly, the two realised there was a gap for a dedicated app that took the principle of summarising and applied it to the sports sector.

The app is currently being trialled but looks set to be available on the App Store and Google Play in November. You can find more info on the website at:
