High street fashion with golf course function - Ecco Golf Street
by Carly Cummins
May 27, 2011

Ecco gives the traditional golf shoe a high street makeover, throwing caution to the wind by unveiling a range of golf shoes for ladies that look remarkably like trainers.

Ecco Women's Golf Street Collection

The Ecco Golf Street Collection comes in a range of bright and funky colours that will certainly turn heads. These sports-casual styles are incredibly comfortable and ideally suited to the modern lifestyles of ladies who work in the city and dash straight to the club.

They have been cleverly designed with super-grip traction bars made from a highly-durable TPU – a wear-resistant material that grips to almost any surface and lasts five times longer than rubber.

“The women’s Golf Street has pushed boundaries by introducing new levels of convenience and style to the lives of women around the world,” said Michael Waack, Head of Global Golf at ECCO. “What’s amazing is the number of ladies who have purchased it not as a golf shoe, but as a comfortable, fashionable shoe for everyday use.”

Now I’m no traditionalist when it comes to golf attire, I’m all for cutting edge styles and fashion, but I have to say when I saw these new Golf Street shoes from ECCO I thought they would cause a few problems at some clubs. I know for a fact that I’d have people staring at my feet and wondering whether I was wearing trainers if I turned up for my Tuesday Medal in these. That said, these are an incredibly comfortable, high-performance golf shoe, so don’t let your club secretary tell you any different!

The ECCO Golf Street is available from a wide selection of stockists, priced at £90. For more information visit
