Cresting of Abacus' European Solheim Cup Team outfits underway
by Carly Frost
July 16, 2013

Abacus Sportswear , Official Supplier to The 2013 European Solheim Cup Team, has started cresting the match outfits for the 13th biennial event being held at Colorado Golf Club, Parker, USA.

The Swedish clothing brand is using Symaprint, a specialist embroidery and printing company run by husband-and-wife duo Goran and Anki Wikander, to crest the team's ensembles with The 2013 Solheim Cup logo and emblematic European Team stars.

"Embroidering The Solheim Cup logo onto the outfits is a very intricate exercise," commented Chris Mattsson, designer at Abacus Sportswear. "The Solheim Cup crest requires careful coordination of 6 colours and 9700 stitches.

"The main reasons for choosing the family-run business to embroider the Solheim Cup garments is the close proximity of Symaprint, and its high quality standards. As the company is just 10 minutes from our offices in Dalby, we are able to ensure high quality embroidery and address any issues that may arise in minutes."

Chris Mattsson added: "Although embroidering a logo on a polo might seem insignificant, it is this close attention to detail that can sometimes make all the difference - and Symaprint delivers on every piece."

Symaprint crested the entire wardrobe of The 2011 European Solheim Cup Team, and has since worked with Abacus Sportswear, completing all the brand's embroidery and printing needs. It will also be responsible for cresting of The 2014 Ryder Cup logoed garments that Abacus Sportswear delivers as an Official Licensee.

Once embroidered, the 2013 European Solheim Cup team outfits will be shipped to Colorado by air where this year's selected players will see, for the first time, their tournament wardrobe in its entirety.
