Anthony Kim denied European Tour card
October 21, 2010

Former U.S. Ryder Cup player Anthony Kim has been denied a ‘medical exemption’ in his bid to retain European Tour membership.

The 25-year-old was sidelined from May to August because of thumb surgery but has only played in seven European Tour events all season.

“We accept Anthony was injured but since returning to competition he’s had ample opportunity to return to Europe to compete but he’s made no effort whatsoever,” Tournament Players Committee chairman Thomas Bjorn told Reuters on the eve of the Castello Masters.

Kim, who won the U.S. Tour’s Houston Open in April, is 48th on the European money-list with earnings of 550,447 euros ($757,700).
