GolfCode helps to find lost equipment
July 14, 2010

GolfCode has launched a new web-based service which allows any golf course in Europe and the USA to notify golfers of lost equipment with just a click of a mouse. Saving golfers the £50-£80 cost of replacing a club and helping golf courses to reduce the amount of lost property they have to store.

Golfers simply visit the GolfCode website to select and register their GolfCode. Golfers can then apply their GolfCode labels to their golf clubs, head-covers etc. When items are left behind on the course and handed in, The golf course staff can quickly log into the GolfCode website and enter the golfer's unique serial number. Golfers instantly receive an email from GolfCode, stating what they have lost and where to collect it. The system does not display any personal information, maintaining the privacy of the user.

Iain Macdonald of GolfCode, said: "The system gives golfers peace of mind. Golfers are instantly contacted if a wedge is left by a green, without the unpopular option of displaying personal details on golf clubs. And it is not just golf courses that can use the service to trace equipment; airports can now also use GolfCode to notify golfers of lost property. With an estimated 20 million golfers passing through airports every year and many sets of clubs going missing, this is a valuable service that will save many golfers the expense and hassle of losing entire sets of clubs."

Jamie Donaldson, European Tour golfer who attended the product launch, said: "My golf equipment is important to me so it helps to have peace of mind without the whole world knowing my mobile number."

There is no annual fee and no charge to receive lost item emails from GolfCode. Golfers just pay a registration fee of £4.99 to obtain a GolfCode serial number and they can then use the GolfCode system for life. GolfCode is completely versatile and can also be used with a range of other personal valuable items such as keys, wallets and mobile phones.
