IOG launch new lawn care course
September 9, 2010

The Institute of Groundsmanship (IOG) has announced a new low-cost and highly effective one-day training course targeted at everyone involved in lawn care – from keen gardeners through to aspiring professionals.

The IOG Lawn Care Course will be delivered by an IOG qualified trainer who will impart the latest practical skills and techniques required for superlative lawn care, as well as supply the knowledge essential to maintain lawns to the highest standards.

Elements covered include initial assessment of the lawn, mowing, scarification, aeration, topdressing, fertilising, repairs (including re-turfing and re-seeding), renovation, and the identification and control of weeds, pests, diseases and moss, as well as the use and maintenance of relevant tools and equipment. Health and safety is underpinned throughout the course content.

A complementary detailed training manual will also be an invaluable ‘reminder’ of every element of the course and, upon completion, ‘delegates’ will receive a Certificate of Attendance which can subsequently be upgraded to a Certificate of Achievement via an online multi-choice questionnaire.

IOG Lawn Care Courses will be available throughout the UK and bespoke programmes can be designed to meet individual needs and, if required, delivered at a site of your choice.

For more information, contact IOG head office on 01908 312511 (selecting option 2) or email Lisa Gray at lgray@iog.org
