Lace to produce behind the scenes Ryder Cup DVD
September 8, 2010

The UKs leading independent sports DVD publisher Lace DVD, in partnership with producers IMG,  today announce a deal for the rights to release the official 2010 38 th Ryder Cup on DVD. The deal includes for the first time exclusive behind-the-scenes access at the tournament which will take the form of a special Access All Areas programme for release on a limited edition box set alongside the official review. Lace DVD has published the last four Ryder Cup Tournaments on DVD with enormous success.

The unique, first of its kind Golf documentary will take fans behind the scenes in golf's most prestigious team event. The precise level of access is at this stage a closely held secret but the producers, IMG, reveal "never before will golf fans have such an insight in to the workings, passion and energy of the Ryder Cup as the drama of the event unfolds"

This documentary will show elements of the golf event yet to be seen before on DVD.  That means on the course, inside the fairway ropes, the press conferences, the nights and days off and some never seen before footage of the players and event .

All the raw emotion and passion from The 38 th Ryder Cup will be captured on camera in a film that will change the way fans think about the sport of golf and the extraordinary athletes that play the great game. Fans will know what it feels like to be part of the European and US teams as they seek to gain golf's greatest prize.

The Ryder Cup is the most watched golf event in the world with millions viewing across the globe and 1.5 million UK house holds tuning in to watch the last Ryder Cup w h e n Europe dr e w against the USA in Kentucky back in 2008.

Lace DVD will be backing this title with an extensive marketing and PR campaign to help drive sales into the Christmas period.

Adam Lacey of Lace DVD is confident that the concept behind the 2010 Ryder Cup DVD will drive sales even if Europe fails to bring home the cup.

"We are very pleased to be working with IMG and Ryder Cup Ltd again. The Ryder Cup Official Film is always a superbly produced programme and something golf fans really enjoy.

After working with IMG on other behind the scenes programmes I'm really excited to see the end results and the access that is granted for the documentary by the Ryder Cup".
