Lexden Wood golf course for sale
June 20, 2010

Strutt & Parker’s Leisure and Hotels department is instructed to sell Lexden Wood Golf Course.

Situated in a prime trading location on the edge of Colchester, this attractive parkland course has been subject to considerable investment over the past 5 years, including remodelling the whole course and developing the shop. There is also a very popular 24 bay floodlit driving range, 9 hole par 3 course and an easily run clubhouse with semi permanent marquee.

Add to this the untapped potential offered by the planning consent to extend the buildings and the valuable shop lease to leading golf retailer, American Golf, and the future prospects for Lexden Wood are very bright. Chris Gooch handling the sale said “We are expecting strong interest due to the excellent location and condition of the property. With the spin off benefits from the valuable lease to American Golf yet to be maximised, and the potential to build further facilities, Lexden Wood is the complete package”.

A guide price of £1.8 million is being quoted.
