New Caledonia tournament starts October 2nd
September 1, 2010

The 3rd event of the PGA NC Golf Championship will start on the 2nd of October 2010 for 9 days.

This international golf competition is a major golfing event in the South Pacific. The tournament is part of the Australian circuit calendar with eight million francs XPF ($100,000.00) in prize money for men and 500,000 francs XFP ($50,000.00) for women.

The history of golf records that the professional Caledonian golfer Jean-Louis Guépy, was the first to record his name on the winner’s board when the first event was held.

Like every year, the Golf Sports Association of Tina, organizer of the event, will invite several professional golfers from Australia and New Zealand to compete in this tournament with their Caledonian counterparts.

Two of the three Caledonian golf courses, Tina and La Ouenghi, will be honoured during this event. The course of La Ouenghi, located near Boulouparis, a small town on the West Coast, immerses golfers in the Caledonian bush scenery.

The course at Tina, located on the outskirts of Noumea, New Caledonia's capital city, is a short course with a seafront golf design, quite hilly and with quite a few traps, but very attractive with very beautifully set holes bordering the Pacific Ocean. The course can become very challenging if the trade winds begin to blow.

Theme nights are organized to create a festive and bonding atmosphere in which the other guests of the South Pacific region are invited to participate.

The PGA NC Golf Championship is an opportunity to participate in a wonderful celebration of golf and it is a show not to be missed for all lovers of the little white ball.
