Jim Furyk ends title drought and takes no. 6 spot
March 22, 2010

Jim Furyk picked up his 14th PGA Tour victory, the first since the 2007 Canadian Open, when he won the Transitions Championship from Korea's KJ Choi at the Copperhead course at Palm Harbor's Innisbrook Resort in Florida.

After a thunderstorm delay of almost four hours the 39-year-old American scored a last round 69 which put him just a single stroke clear of Choi who scored a fine 67 which included four birdies in the first six holes. The win moves Furyk up three places to number six in the Official World Golf Ranking.

Rookie Welshman Rhys Davies claimed his maiden European Tour title, winning the Hassan II Trophy by two shots from South Africa's Louis Oosthuizen. The win puts Davies into the world top 150 at 141st, while Oosthuizen is now just outside the top 50 in 60th place.
