Ian Poulter headed back to world top 10
November 22, 2010

Ian Poulter collected his tenth European Tour title by holding off all challengers at the UBS Hong Kong Open. The 34 year old, who narrowly missed out at last week's Barclays Singapore Open, closed with a three under par 67 to finish with a 22 under par aggregate of 258. That was one clear of Simon Dyson and 17 year old Matteo Manassero, who surged through the field with a closing 62. It was Poulter's second win of the year, following the WGC Accenture Match Play in February, and takes him three places up the Ranking to 11th; his highest career ranking was 5th, after the Accenture. Meanwhile, Simon Dyson climbs 15 places to 63rd, abd Manassero, who began the year as world no. 570, moves 14 places up to 62nd.

Yuta Ikeda claimed his fourth Japan Golf Tour title of the season after a final round of 66 sealed a two-stroke triumph at the Dunlop Phoenix. Overnight leader Ikeda sank six birdies and just one bogey in his five-under effort at Phoenix Country Club to finish two shots ahead of Korean Kim Kyung-tae on 15 under par. The win takes Ikeda back into the World Top 50 in 43rd place, a rise of 12 positions, and he joins Martin Kaymer as the only other player to win four OWGR qualifying tournaments in 2010.
