Pilsner Urquell team up with Tony Jacklin
June 25, 2010

Pilsner Urquell, the official beer of The Open Championship, today announced that it has partnered with renowned British golfing legend Tony Jacklin C.B.E.

Tony was invited to represent the brand because of his vast knowledge and experience of The Old Course at St Andrews, having played in 27 Open Championships including five at St Andrews and for being a true connoisseur of the game through his work as a golf course designer. The partnership reinforces Pilsner Urquell's commitment to purity and originality and marks the start of the 2nd year of the brand's partnership with The Open Championship.

Pilsner Urquell"With the help of Tony Jacklin, we hope to bring the true legends of Pilsner Urquell and The Open Championship to life at this year's event," says Petr Dvorak, International Brand Director for Pilsner Urquell. "Both Pilsner Urquell and The Open are legendary leaders in their respective fields and we look forward to continuing to honour heritage and authenticity with this special partnership."

The Open Championship is the world's original golf major and has remained uncompromised ever since it was founded in 1860. Pilsner Urquell is a truly fitting companion as the world's original pilsner - one which remains uncompromisingly true to its heritage. Pilsner Urquell is the exclusive beer of The Open and will be available at The Old Course at St Andrews in all bars and hospitality areas.
