New restaurant overlooking Old Course St Andrews
June 18, 2010

Struggling to decide where to enjoy The Open?  Look no further than table 23 at Rocca Bar & Grill within putting distance of the 18th green and with breathtaking views beyond to West Sands beach.

Situated in St Andrews' most prestigious street, rubbing shoulders with properties fetching in excess of £3.7 million, Rocca Bar & Grill is the latest venture by Adrian Pieraccini of Rocpool fame.

Restaurateur Pieraccini followed an invitation by Macdonald Hotels & Resorts Chairman, Donald Macdonald, to establish a destination restaurant within the group's flagship Macdonald Rusacks Hotel.

Based on an Italian style grill concept Rocca is set to become a firm favourite with foodies from the St Andrews area and further afield as well as hotel guests.

Adrian Pieraccini said; "You couldn't find a more exciting location for a restaurant. The space and the amazing views combined with our Italian inspired food really do make this the place to dine at this year's Open.

"We are bringing our expertise from Rocpool to Rocca, hoping to add what we call 'the Roc factor' to St Andrews' dining scene."

With over 30 years' experience in the industry owning successful restaurant and hotel businesses Adrian has become an expert in pleasing the palates of British and international diners, making him the ideal choice for Macdonald Hotels & Resorts to go into partnership with.

The new venture also features the first ever Louis Roederer Champagne bar at the centre of the restaurant - the perfect place to take in the views whilst lingering over the menu.
