Taba Heights Pro Am tees off in November
September 24, 2010

Professional and novice golfers alike will once again join forces for the fourth Taba Heights International Pro-Am from 11-13 November 2010.

This 54-hole international tournament is a sporting highlight of the Taba Heights golfing calendar and this year will see 32 teams (128 players) battling it out for a prize fund of £30,000.

The competition is becoming increasingly popular with Brits and the 2010 Pro-Am will be made up of 17 British teams, which amounts to 68 participants from the UK.

Following the success of the 2009 competition, this year's tournament will also involve the participation of three hotels in the Egyptian resort - the Hyatt Regency, Marriott and InterContinental, with each hotel hosting an evening of entertainment for competitors.

Pro-Am teams must consist of one professional and three amateurs .   There is three-quarter handicap allowance and the maximum handicaps are 28 for men and 26 for women.

During the tournament, leading professionals and future stars who have previously visited Taba Heights for coaching and practice sessions will be stepping up to the first tee to vie for the title claimed by 2009 Pro-Am Champion, Björn Pettersson.

Situated against a natural backdrop of desert, mountains and vibrant sea, Taba Heights is an exceptionally picturesque destination on Egypt's Sinai Peninsula and is a gateway to stunning sites of the Middle East.

The resort's 18-hole championship golf course boasts a range of challenging fairways, lakes and bunkers and offers outstanding views of the coastlines of Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Israel.

After a hard day's golfing, competitors will be able to take advantage of the rest of the excellent facilities on offer in Taba Heights, including 5kms of coastline, access to some of the world's best dive sites and the brand new Salt Cave, which offers the utmost in relaxation.
