Tee fore Two making dating easy for golfers
October 12, 2010

Whilst online dating has become very much the norm, there are still many singletons out there that regard online dating as something of an anathema.

Following a straw poll of its members, online golf dating website TEE fore TWO.co.uk has discovered that many of its members were online dating first-timers when they joined up but were drawn to TEE fore TWO because they could meet other people whilst simultaneously doing something they enjoy in safe and familiar surroundings.

"For some, online dating is still rather an unknown quantity and can be a daunting prospect - not to mention slightly embarrassing! But through TEE fore TWO you can meet fellow singletons who share a common interest in golf and if it doesn't lead to romance, at least you have still enjoyed a round of golf and potentially experienced a different golf course," comments Janet Rampton, founder of TEE fore TWO.

"To meet someone online with a shared hobby or interest like golf makes introductions a whole lot easier especially as the first face-to-face encounter takes place in a less pressured, more relaxed environment."

Janet believes that as a result this is one of the main reasons that TEE fore TWO is thriving. Indeed the niche website has been bringing together single golfers with great success since its inception at the start of last year and has seen numerous relationships blossoming into long term commitment.

One TEE fore TWO success story is writer Nick Wigzell, who was looking for someone in the Somerset area where he lives until he met Kent-based Julie Allen by chance when he put a message on the TEE fore TWO noticeboard asking if anyone could recommend a golf travel bag, to which Julie replied.

From there, an email conversation developed and then some online flirting which led to a meeting one Sunday, followed by four or five rounds of golf. By chance, the two of them had signed up for a TEE fore TWO trip to Morocco which further sealed their relationship. And the rest as they say is history.

"I can't tell you how excited I have been to have met Nick through TEE fore TWO! I now tell all my single golfing friends to look up the website.  It is such a good idea!" enthuses Julie.

"I just wish that I had known about TEE fore TWO before and I could have found a golfing partner both on and off the course a long time ago!" says Nick. "The TEE fore TWO golf days are well organised and everyone is extremely friendly. What's more, the site is easy to use, simple to navigate and in comparison to other dating websites is excellent value for money."

Another member that is over the moon at meeting her new partner via TEE fore TWO is Annie Matthews*: "Originally I took up golf to improve my social life and then I heard about TEE fore TWO from a friend and liked the sound of it. I've never dated online before as I was a bit nervous about it but TEE fore TWO appealed to me as it gives you the opportunity to meet people in a more natural way (as opposed to meeting in a bar). I also felt reassured by the fact that I knew what to expect from a golfer; we all have similar interests."

Annie is now happily ensconced with James Pettigrew* after only her second game of golf with a TEE fore TWO member!

One thing you can be assured of is that every member of TEE fore TWO has a common starting point - golf. A round of golf with a complete stranger is something we can all do and gives you a pretty good idea of the character of the person straightaway. Even if nothing comes of the encounter, at least you have spent a few hours doing something you enjoy!
