Teeofftimes breaks 100,000 customer mark with 140% growth
November 17, 2010

The UK's largest tee time booking service arranged tee times for 105,000 customers over the past trading year and announces aggressive growth plans for 2011.

Teeofftimes.co.uk, the UK’s largest tee time booking service, has acheived growth of 140% over the past 12 months*, arranging golf for 105,000 customers at more than 500 clubs and resorts. It has also announced plans to extend its business into Ireland during the first quarter of 2011.

Powered by Golfbreaks.com, Europe’s largest golf travel company, Teeofftimes.co.uk, offers golfers a highly-convenient tee time booking service, 24-hours a day, seven days a week, whilst at the same time giving clubs and resorts the opportunity of reaching new customers via the internet.

Steve Hemsworth, Managing Director of Golfbreaks.com, said: “Our expansion into Ireland early next year is a significant step for our business and it is already being warmly welcomed by clubs and resorts who are keen to work with us. Our results are now clear evidence that golfers’ habits are changing and the online market is seeing a surge in the number of customers wanting to book tee times via the internet.”

Over the course of this year, a growing number of clubs and resorts in the UK have taken advantage of this flexible route to market. The top 10% of clubs affiliated to Teeofftimes.co.uk have received in excess of 1,000 new customers thanks to its service, highlighting the rapidly changing habits of golfers and how they access their sport.

Steve added: “We are now also seeing a growing trend towards more last-minute bookings and in 2010 alone, 67% of bookings have been made within 72 hours of play and 43% are booked when the pro shop would normally be closed.”

The Windsor, Berks, based business expects the growth to continue and has targeted to sign up 650 clubs by March 2011. Some of the clubs and resorts it already features include The Belfry, The Warwickshire, Turnberry, Moors Valley, Foxhills and Moor Allerton.

Golfers making a booking through Teeofftimes.co.uk can also earn Break Points, a unique loyalty scheme that rewards people with one point for every £10 spent. These points can then be redeemed against any future Teeofftimes.co.uk booking, Golfbreaks.com holiday or spa break through Bookaspa.com.

Teeofftimes.co.uk is also set to announce an important strategic partnership with some of the golf industry’s leading organisations that will help UK golf clubs market themselves more effectively and provide a variety of networking and revenue-generating solutions through structured sales and marketing operations.
