World of Golf offering free classes
October 8, 2010

World of Golf, who provide first class driving ranges, golf tuition and Adventure Golf experiences throughout the UK, is now encouraging novices to get into golf with an amazing offer of six hours of beginners' lessons with a PGA Qualified Instructor, completely free!

Adults and children with no previous experience can be turned into golfers at absolutely no cost at any of World of Golf's four sites in Croydon, Glasgow, Sidcup and New Malden.

Jon Woodroffe, Group Golf Development Manager at World of Golf said: "Taking lessons with a professional from the outset is essential to get the best possible start in golf, as you will avoid forming bad habits early on and will be on the right track to develop your game from your first swing."

"Golf is a great game that can be enjoyed by anyone, regardless of age, fitness or ability and we hope that this offer will encourage more people to give it a try. World of Golf's four sites across the UK combined provide the public with around 800 hours of free golf lessons!"

The adult's Beginners Golf Course includes six weekly hour-long golf lessons with a PGA Qualified Instructor in a small, sociable group. The course covers all the basics of golf from the grip to the full swing, using a variety of clubs. Novices will also learn the basics of golf rules and etiquette and will be coached in different techniques of completing a course. Free use of a 7 Iron is included, although your own clubs can be used too. Cost of range balls is not included in the free lessons offer and attendees will be expected to pay for these - prices start from as little as £4.20.

Children aged 6-14 can sign up to the free junior golf course, which includes four weekly hour-long lessons with a PGA Qualified Instructor where they will go through a step-by-step guide to the basics of golf techniques, rules and etiquette in a fun and safe environment.

Jon Woodroffe said: "Golf has a reputation as being an expensive pastime, but at World of Golf we're passionate about making the sport accessible for all: with our free beginners' lessons there is no need to pay expensive fees or buy equipment."

With a wide choice of individual or group lessons, World of Golf's PGA Qualified Instructors run courses for golfers of all ages and abilities, enhanced with innovative golf training facilities, such as our video coaching studios to really help golfers analyse and improve their swing.

Free beginner courses are available in World of Golf centres in New Malden, Glasgow, Croydon and Sidcup, but places are limited.
