Golfers enjoy huge demo day at The Belfry
September 8, 2011

Golfers of all abilities flocked to The Belfry's PGA National Golf Academy on Bank Holiday Monday (29 August) for a Today's Golfer Demo Day that saw eight of the world's leading golf brands turn out with their latest equipment and technology to offer free custom-fit clinics.

The visitors, the majority of whom had pre-booked their Demo Day places through best-selling magazine Today's Golfer , benefited from technical Flightscope analysis by experts from leading brands Callaway, PING, TaylorMade, Cleveland/Srixon, Nike, Mizuno, Cobra and Wilson Staff - who were all on hand from 10am to 6pm.

As well as free tuition, golfers took part in a range of relaxed competitions run by The Belfry's PGA Professionals such as Nearest-the-Pin and Longest Drive , while Dr Paul Hurrion gave visitors an in-depth analysis of putting using his Quintic technology. PING 's Tour truck also parked up for the day to let golfers check out the workshop where clubs for Lee Westwood and former Open Champion Louis Oosthuizen are tweaked prior to big events.

"The Today's Golfer Demo Day was a great success," said The Belfry's Director of Golf Gary Silcock. "It was brilliant to see just how keen the TG readers were to try out the range of new clubs available for them to test and the way each of the brands handled them with expert swing analysis and advice. There's no substitute for a custom-fit session to put the right clubs in the hands of the keen golfer and this event proved just how popular they have become.

"We'd like to thank Today's Golfer and its readers that came along and made the day memorable for all concerned," he added.

Meanwhile, TaylorMade was just one of the manufacturers suitably impressed by the Demo Day. "We were booked up for the whole day with fittings, so the event was a great way of getting our key products into the hands of golfers who wanted to take their games to the next level," said European Brand Experience Manager Sean Brady.

Wilson Staff Sales rep Stuart Alford commented: "The Today's Golfer Demo Day was brilliantly run and one of the most productive we've ever attended in terms of the volume of golfers trying out our new clubs and Flightscope technology. The Belfry's PGA National Golf Academy was a fitting venue for an event of that size."

The new clubs that featured in the Today's Golfer Demo Day are now available to try out and purchase at the PGA National Golf Academy , which holds the largest stock of demo clubs in Europe . Golfers will also receive a free custom-fit session when they buy a set of clubs at The Belfry.
