Dragon sited at Brocket Hall
June 15, 2011

On Tuesday 24 th May 2011, Dragons' Den star and entrepreneur Peter Jones CBE held his annual Enterprise Golf Challenge at Brocket Hall, in aid of The Peter Jones Foundation.

Hosting the event, attended by 100 guests, Peter Jones was accompanied by the likes of England and Wasps rugby legend Josh Lewsey and the golf "Trick Shot King", Jeremy Dale. Golfing guests were treated to 18 holes on the Melbourne Course - the more scenic of Brocket Hall's two championship golf courses, which crosses the River Lea several times to finish in front of the Hall with a charming ferry ride across the lake to the 18 th green.

Guests arrived at 10am and the golf commenced at 11:30am with a shotgun start. At the 1 st hole, all who felt confident in their golfing skills were given the opportunity to go head-to-head with Jeremy Dale in his "Trick Shot Challenge". More surprises lay in store, with the winner of the longest drive at the 11 th hole receiving a Magnum of Moët and Chandon champagne, and a Hole in One at the 14 th hole would have seen the highly skilful golfer win an Alfa Romeo.

A champagne reception sponsored by Moët and Chandon awaited the weary golfers on their return to the beautifully positioned 19 th hole at Brocket Hall. Champagne glass in hand, guests then enjoyed the Jeremy Dale Trick Shot Show where Dale showed off his highly "magical" skills.

A delicious 3-course dinner, overseen by Brocket Hall's Executive Chef Phil Thompson was followed by the day's prize giving and auction, with lots including a luxury holiday to South Africa, VIP backstage tickets to see Elton John in concert and a signed pair of Joe Calzaghe boxing gloves, to name but a few.

When asked to comment on the event, Managing Director of Brocket Hall Ken Creighton said he was "Delighted to host an event in aid of such a good cause. We even managed to provide the sunshine!"

The Peter Jones Foundation gives assistance and support to young children, with a specific focus on creating a brand new generation of entrepreneurs. The charity strives to encourage young people who aspire to "make it" in Britain, and to live their dream.

Peter Jones said: "This year's golf event was a fantastic fundraiser for my Foundation, thanks to perfect weather and a brilliant venue and course at Brocket Hall. I would like to personally thank everyone at Brocket Hall for all their help and support which enabled us to stage a great day out for our guests.
