Officers only at Crown "Claret Jug" competition
November 9, 2011

Captains and Vice Captains at 28 golf clubs owned by Crown Golf recently took part in a one-of-a-kind tournament called the "Claret Jug". The annual competition is arranged by Crown Golf to say thank you to nearly 90 club officers across all its properties.

The four ball better ball Stableford event took place at Batchworth Park Golf Club in Rickmansworth on October 15th , 2011. The Men's Captains and Ladies' Vice Captains from each club competed against the Ladies' Captains and Men's Vice Captains from another Crown Golf club.

The day concluded with a lavish prize giving and gala dinner, supported by Crown Golf partner -Chateau Des Vigiers - at Batchworth Park with prizes being given in "Longest Drive" competitions, a "Nearest the Pin" competition, and also to the winning team (Pyrford GC in Surrey).

Nick Moran, Sales and Marketing Director of Crown Golf, who hosted the day, said: "We had beautiful weather for the Claret Jug competition, and the course at Batchworth Park Golf Club played really well. It was great to see all the club captains getting to know each other, and comparing notes on the different Crown venues - I hope we came out of it well!

"There was a very high standard of golf on the day, with t he Pyrford Club Captain, Mark Scott, playing the round of the day, scoring a phenomenal 3-under par gross score of 69. Our sincere thanks go to all the Batchworth Park members who helped out on the day - they did an impressive job."
