Elea Golf Club launch special junior membership
June 23, 2011

Elea Golf Club, part of the prestigious Elea Estate development, has underlined its commitment to grow golf in Cyprus, and support youngsters taking up the game, by launching an innovative junior annual membership that includes 25 hours of complimentary coaching with acclaimed Head Professional Chris Campbell.

Aside from continuing to give current members and visitors a world-class experience, Elea Estate is committed to raising awareness of golf to a wider audience in Cyprus and to introduce more youngsters to the game.

Chris Campbell said: "By offering junior members complimentary 1:1 coaching time, we are making a strong commitment to help youngsters either take up the sport or improve from their current standard. When I was growing up in Scotland, I was fortunate that people took an interest in me taking up the game and I intend to offer that same opportunity to the youngsters of Cyprus."

As part of this innovative junior membership, to be launched in September, youngsters will be given the opportunity to join the Elea Junior Award Teaching Programme that offers four levels of attainment - Bronze (Elea), Silver (Tom Morris Jnr), Gold (Ben Hogan) and Elite (Bobby Jones).

The programme will educate juniors about key areas of golf including intuitive and task-related skills, playing techniques, practice habits and the mental game.

Chris Campbell added: "As well as inviting juniors who already have a strong grasp of the game to join Elea Golf Club, our goal is to grow golf participation through our Junior Award Teaching Programme. We intend to give every child across Cyprus the opportunity to try golf for the first time at The Elea Golf Academy."

Since opening in October 2010, Elea Golf Club and its 18-hole Sir Nick Faldo-designed golf course has built a strong international reputation, and has recently been awarded the 'best in Cyprus' tag by influential rankings website .

The Elea Academy boasts impressive facilities, including a full-length driving range complete with target greens and bunkers, a short-game practice area and putting green, and a state-of-the-art swing analysis system, giving all juniors the perfect platform from which to embrace the game.

Ross Robertson, Director of Golf Operations at Elea Estate, said: "The Elea Golf Academy is committed to developing junior golf using a simplistic, sustainable and natural approach. Our objective is to be the most sought after coaching experience on the island, and be recognised at an international level as a centre of excellence."
